Proven Hydrocarbon Fire Protection with U-STUCCO™ FRX
In July 2023, a full-scale Jet Fire Test was conducted at the Amguri Oil Field (Assam, India) in accordance with ISO 22899-1:2021 and the UK Health & Safety Executive Offshore Technology Report OTI 95 634 standards. A concrete slab protected with U-STUCCO™ FRX was exposed to a high-velocity natural gas jet flame for 120 minutes.
Key Results:
The protected concrete maintained temperatures between 60–115°C on the unexposed surface, far below structural failure thresholds.
No spalling, puffing, or delamination occurred during the 2 hour test.
Only minor surface cracking was observed after two hours of continuous exposure to jet fire.
The integrity of the protection remained intact, demonstrating stability even under hydrocarbon jet fire conditions.
This performance validates U-STUCCO™ FRX as a reliable passive fire protection (PFP) solution for the oil, gas, petrochemical, and energy industries, where resistance to jet fires is considered the most extreme benchmark for fireproofing materials.
